On September 22, 2017 the regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held.

Before consideration of the draft laws, representatives of factions of political parties expressed their attitude to the address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. This speech of the head of state, as noted, has a truly historical significance. The initiatives of Uzbekistan from the high rostrum on the most important areas of regional and international policy have found support among broad political circles.

Representatives of factions of political parties made suggestions and recommendations on the need to conduct information and educational activities among voters, the general public on explaining the essence and significance of this address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, constructive proposals, opinions on the most important areas of the state policy. The importance of legal support of the initiatives of the head of the state was underscored.

Then deputies considered a number of draft laws in the first reading. In particular, the draft laws “On public control”, on introducing amendments and additions to the Tax, Family, Criminal Procedural Codes and other legislative acts were discussed.

One of such mechanisms, as deputies noted, is the institution of public control.
